No Such Thing as a Free Line

We had a most satisfactory Sunday yesterday. I started out the morning right with another new favorite, which I have yet to name. Maybe sunny-side-up frittata?

This one was zucchini, onion, garlic, and mushroom. Squish started to attack it before I got the picture snapped.

Then we attempted to get in free at the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. Every three months the Academy hosts a free day to the public. Normally it costs $25 per large human to get in, so this seemed to be a pretty good deal.

Seemed to be.

Yes, that is the line; it is wrapped around the park and you can’t even see the actual building. It took us 10 minutes of walking just to find the end of it. After about 1 1/2 hours of queuing fun, Squish had about had enough so we decided to spare another family an extra minute of waiting and left to find lunch.

And holy crap, we found a Crepevine! Nicoise salad with EVOO instead of dressing; and I didn’t eat the white potatoes or bread that accompanied it. Filling and Whole30-compliant!

We got home and everyone went down for a nap. while I went for a quick 2.8 mile run. They were all still out when I returned so I thought it would be fun to try out the Italian Meat Sauce recipe I saw on The Clothes Make the Girl.

All this …

Obliatory “show-all-the-ingredients” pic

Turned into this …

Holy wow, that was awesome. Squishy approved.
