Steak! Steaaaaak.

Happy Hump Day, everyone! Is it just me, or does the term “Hump Day” always sound dirty? For me it’s right up there with words other people find uncomfortable, like “moist” or “root canal”.

Any-hoo, I dislike daylight savings. I left work an hour later than usual last night, and it was already getting dark. Next week, this will be my usual commute. Boo night, I want to see more sun.


At least there’ll be more sun in the morning.


This is the apartment pool I have yet to swim in. (I did check the water temperature this morning and it seems to be the optimal swimming temperature, on the cool side of warm.)

Anyway, as I left work I texted Hulk to start dinner so it would be ready on my arrival. Not only did he cook the steaks, but he also lit candles and opened a bottle of wine. Aww! *Swoon*. I was too enamoured to take a picture, or remember that I’m still trying to Whole30 (despite repeated fails). Steak and wine were consumed, and it was good.

Hulk went to a party while Squish and I ran some errands and did some chores. I did a ton of laundry and made an egg bake for the rest of the week’s breakfasts. Since I’m always pinched for time in the morning, I like to bake a dozen eggs with whatever veggies and herbs we have that are about to turn to the dark side. This time it was red chard, the leftover broccoli and green beans from dinner, some of the leftover mushrooms and red pepper from the dinner salad, the last of the good tarragon and some random herbs from the spice rack.

Oh, and I guess I forgot to take a picture of that too. Oops.

This morning was a good leg workout. I even squatted a bar, rather than the usual dumbbells. Since we don’t have a squat rack in the gym, my weight is limited to whatever I can clean and press first to get the weight on my shoulders for the squats. But since my form is crap and I’m working on squatting without busting my knee I’m okay with low weight/high reps for a while. At least I’m doing it.

Breakfast was the egg bake. It stuck to the pan so I had to scrape a bunch of eggy ribbons off, sort of like an ugly garnish.

Yeahhh, that’s not getting done anytime soon.

Time to head home for lunch, hope y’alls day is moving along in a good way!

2. Leg Ext. 3×10 @ 60 lbs
3. Deadlift 3×10 @ 65 lbs
4. Squat 3×10 @ 45 lbs
5. Calf raise 1×10 @ 60, 70, and 80 lbs
6. Adductor 2×10 @ 70, 1×10 @ 80 lbs
7. Abductor 2×10 @ 70, 1×10 @ 80 lbs
8. Stretch & cool down
