Happy Tuesday! Since yesterday’s post was such a tome, I’ll keep today’s quick and simple with the eats and runnin’s. Annnnd, it’s Treat Yourself Tuesday, brought to you by Becky at Olives ‘n’ Wine! It’s been a while since I’ve been able to link up, so it’s good to be back 🙂
Squish is still getting over the crud he caught over the weekend, so we spent some time snuggling on the couch watching “Family Guy” on Netflix while dinner was cooking. Only the best educational programming for my child. I thought I had a picture of the honey mustard glazed salmon and green beans I threw together, but I suppose it was lost in cyberspace. Don’t think that I made some fancy-schmancy dinner, though. The “recipe” was on the back of the Safeway frozen salmon filets bag and consisted of three ingredients – butter, mustard, and honey. I thought, “I can do that,” and after I pan-fried the salmon I dumped the glaze on it. Squish loved it and ate all of his salmon and most of the green beans. I guess he’s getting his appetite back.
Then we skyped with Grandma and Grandpa while discussing holiday plans and schedules. Squish’s birthday anniversary is on December 20th, so it’s conveniently located next to Christmas which makes trip planning for both events a bit easier.
After Squish went to bed, I opened birthday present #1 from me to me:
New kicks! I couldn’t wait to test them out this morning. I did a quick jaunt around the neighborhood and they felt very nice.
The classics never die.
After my run this morning I decided it was a clean-the-fridge-out kind of breakfast. We haven’t grocery shopped since last week so it was a bit of a mish-mash. Squish and I split the following list of delicacies:
- leftover oatmeal, dressed up with some raisins, cinnamon, and milk
- leftover chicken apple sausage
- a scrambled egg
- some carrots that I cut up and steamed in the microwave with some cinnamon
Our fridge is now almost bare so I’d better put in a grocery order to get us through the weekend. I’m traveling again next week so Hulk and Squish will be on their own then.
Time to get some work done on the rest of the train ride. Make it a great day!
